Sunday 27th - Windy weekend, Part 2

AM
Run - Long 32km on (4-4:15 Pace)
2:16, 31.8km
4:46, 4:50, 3:51, 4:20, 4:54, 3:42, 4:13, 4:26, 4:16, 4:13, 4:30, 4:12, 4:05, 4:13, 4:11, 4:12, 4:08, 4:11, 4:22, 4:35, 4:38, 4:24, 4:18, 4:07, 4:28, 4:42, 4:17, 4:28, 4:49, 4:23, 4:28, 4:15

As you can see I was off target today. The first 5 km's so hard as my feet and tendons are all exhausted at the moment and the first 5km onto the habour bridge is undulating too. So from home, over the HB around Opera house up Oxford street around centennial and return was my loop today.

At 15km the wind picked up in intensity markedly and made the last half of the run very difficult, running up the Cahill onto the HB was like running with a parachute behind you.

I was positive at the start of the run because this was my last hard run before taper, but the conditions got the better of me and I was just too drained to fight it, so I did my best to hold it in there and get it done as best I could. My 2XU Compression race socks had their final hitout before Kona and saved my calves once again.

Spent the rest of the day in store at Paddington to finish off the week.
