Started later than I ever have for this session for what is to be the last "Long Ride" before the IM. Lucas came along after only racing the IM 1 week earlier in NZ. AS i didnt feel the best in the morning i really appreciated it as it allowed me to ride into it!
The pace doesnt look too fast but after the first 50km it was up around 30km ave which is good leading the whole way on rough roads.

Did a 10km effort up at Calga after our second stop and first Coke and the bike setup seems to be working well! It was a short but solid effort with Lucas holding my wheel and commenting on the good power output.

Lucas was expectedly falling apart by 120 which meant a wait at the top of Brooklyn Hill (Pie in the Sky) and a tow back to Hornsby before I did another 15km solo to get the 180. It was heating up and I didnt finish until around 2pm when it was around 30 degrees.
I felt much more positive about this session and gave it an 8/10. Finished the day in the pool/sauna at Ads and Eliza before dinner at Ghengis Khan!
