Well this was definately a time warp for me. I was really busy all Saturday and than when I got out to the track the race was delayed approx 2 hours. I ran into so many old faces and it was just like things hadnt changed really. Its been around 4 years since I last stepped out onto the track and IT HURT. Im not too dissapointed with the time because I know i tried, I would have loved to go under 9min but a few things probably added up together to prevent this
- Had just recovered from a cold (And lungs were seriously burning after the race)
- I had not track tactics, I basically ran on shoulders for most of it, the garmin doesnt lie, I ran a lot extra!
- No more excuses.
Anyway after the race I really felt sick for a good hour or so, the late finish meant I didnt head out to dinner with Kennedy. I got home around 10pm and prepared for Sunday. Thanks so much to all the ERS support. Di, Jeff, Debbie (and partner), Luke. and all the other people cheering me on. Im now looking forward to the State 10000m in February. Nothing but a PB will suffice there and generally the training is all going very strongly.
Well done to my training buddy Swizzle,. James carved out a 8:54. WELL DONE!

Later
